About this Class
This session of the BTEP Coding Club will demonstrate how to use the R package “survival” to conduct a survival analysis of an example dataset. Senior Programmer and Analyst, Duncan Donohue, PhD, will cover wrangling a right censored dataset into a “Surv” object, data visualization, performing survival analysis (Kaplan-Meier and Cox), and interpreting the results. To get the most out of this lesson, it is recommended that attendees know the basics of R programming. Additionally, this event is part 2 of a complementary event, Introduction to Survival Analysis, in the Statistics for Lunch Series, sponsored by the Advanced Biomedical Computational Science group at the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research. It is recommended (but not required) for attendees to attend this complementary event, as it will provide a more detailed overview of the basics of survival analysis as a statistical methodology.
