When: June 3, 2025 - June 12, 2025Share
About this Course
This course will introduce those who have no or limited experience, the foundations of Python programming. Python is a popular general-purpose scripting language for data science. In addition to its default features, there are lots of external packages including those used for data wrangling (Pandas) and visualization (Seaborn) that enhances analysis efficiency. Participants will get hands-on experience with general Python scripting as well as using external packages to work with tabular data and create visualizations. Only NIH staff can attend this course and a Biowulf account is required for participation. Schedule of classes for this series is listed below.
- Getting Started with Python: Tuesday June 3, 2025, 2 – 3 PM
- Python Data Types, Variable Assignment, Conditionals, Loops and Iterators: Thursday June 5, 2 – 3 PM
- Data Wrangling using Python: Tuesday June 10, 2 – 3 PM
- Data Visualization using Python: Thursday June 12, 2 – 3 PM
