Which cell types can be used in Single-Cell RNA Seq?

1

1 Answer:

Short answer is that with any oligo-dT based single cell RNA-seq approach, any cell that has poly-adenylate transcripts and can be efficiently partitioned and lysed can be used for single cell RNA-Seq. Some new methods allow total RNA: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.06.02.131060v1 and some commercial solutions do not rely on oligo-dT based reverse transcription priming, which opens up several other possible applications: https://www.takarabio.com/products/next-generation-sequencing/rna-seq/single-cell-rna-seq/smart-seq-stranded-for-total-rna-seq
