About this Class

Recent breakthroughs in Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI Agents have sparked an unprecedented transformation across diverse fields, including the biomedical domain. These advanced AI models and tools are not only accelerating research but also revolutionizing clinical practices by enabling more efficient data analysis, improving decision-making processes, and facilitating innovative discoveries. In this talk, Dr. Xu will present his recent work on biomedical foundation models and AI agents built on state-of-the-art LLMs and highlight their applications in real world evidence generation, medical diagnoses, and literature-based discovery, with examples in rare diseases. Additionally, he will discuss the compelling insights, challenges, and real-world experiences gained from applying these transformative technologies, illustrating how LLMs/Agents are reshaping the future of biomedical research and healthcare.
