Register Description: MacVector is a sequence analysis application for macOS computers that provides users with a variety of tools and functions to simplify the analysis, manipulation, assembly, and documentation of DNA and protein sequences. This workshop will focus on the analysis of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, including alignment/assembly of NGS data to one or more reference sequences for RNA expression analysis, single nucleotide polymorphism detection, and sequence confirmation. The presentation will also cover de novo assembly of short read (Illumina or IonTorrent) or long read (Sanger, PacBio, or Oxford Nanopore) data for both small plasmids and large genomes, and how to identify and extract subsets of paired-end reads from large data sets.
