Responsible Copilot Use for Sensitive NIH Work
To Know
About this Class
This scenario-based course will help participants pause and evaluate information before using it with Copilot. Learners will work through representative NIH situations involving research records, grant-review materials, personnel information, clinical content, encrypted email, shared files, and de-identification. The course will teach a repeatable decision framework: identify the information type, determine the approved environment, verify permissions and applicable NIH guidance, minimize the data supplied, request a traceable output, and retain human oversight. The curriculum should be reviewed by NIH policy, privacy, and security owners before delivery because participant discussions have surfaced substantial confusion about PII, individually identifiable health information, encrypted messages, and who may access Copilot interactions.
