About this Class

A multidisciplinary network of researchers and clinicians dedicated to improving early detection, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of liver cancer. Presenter: Shalev Itzkovitz, PhD Associate Professor Department of Molecular Cell Biology Weizmann Institute of Science Rehovot, Israel Dr. Shalev Itzkovitz uses tools from systems biology to study design principles of tissue organization, focusing on the key metabolic tissues – the liver, intestine and pancreas. He obtained his BSc in Physics and Mathematics at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, MSc in Electrical Engineering at the Technion and PhD in Systems Biology at the Weizmann Institute. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at MIT with Alexander van Oudenaarden, Dr. Itzkovitz joined the Department of Molecular Cell Biology at the Weizmann Institute in 2012 and obtained tenure in 2017.
