Want to learn more about statistics? Do not miss out on the Statistical Analysis of Research Data (SARD) course series offered by NCI Center for Cancer Training. From the organizer, "The SARD course is designed to provide an overview on the general principles of statistical analysis of research data". All NIH staff are welcomed to register, where registration is limited to 100. This 4 class series will be taught via Webex and each session will be held from 1 pm - 5 pm. Classes will be recorded. The classes and topics taught are shown below.
- January 21, 2026 (Wednesday): Univariate data analysis including:
- Descriptive statistics
- Random sampling
- Estimating a population mean
- January 23, 2026 (Friday): Inferential statistics. Topics discussed include:
- Two sample tests of means
- Small versus large sample consideration
- January 27, 2026 (Tuesday): Bivariate statistics includes:
- Simple linear regression
- Regression diagnostics
- January 29, 2026 (Thursday): Multivariant data analysis, which will discuss:
- Regression
- Non-parametric tools
- Goodness of fit tests
